CONTROL & CONTENT / KEDA LED

How to specify an LED poster controller and content workflow

A display specification is incomplete until the content workflow is defined. Tell the factory how media will reach the screen, how often it changes and whether one or several units need to play together.

Start with the operator and the content

Identify who will update the display: a store employee, an event operator or a central marketing team. State whether media is prepared locally, whether the display must work without an internet connection and how frequently campaigns change.

The supplied HB-X brochure lists app, USB, Wi-Fi and Ethernet publishing, plus synchronous and asynchronous playback. This describes possible workflows; the final quotation must identify the supplied controller, software and supported functions.

  • Person or team responsible for content
  • Update frequency and online or offline operation
  • Portrait artwork, video, text and scheduling requirements

Separate live inputs from stored playback

A live presentation source and a stored-media playlist have different requirements. For a live source, describe the laptop, player or production equipment, its output and the resolution you expect to send. For stored playback, specify files, scheduling and update access.

HDMI and wireless 4G are optional HB-X configurations. If either is needed, include it explicitly in the request. Do not assume that every cabinet includes the same input ports, mobile-data service or HDMI loop.

Define the joined-screen pixel map

A joined display needs a controller and signal layout sized for the combined canvas. Six HB-X1.86 active areas have a nominal total of 2064 × 1032 pixels; six HB-X1.25 active areas have 3072 × 1536 pixels. Confirm the final map and physical seams with the controller configuration.

Six 640 × 1920 mm active areas form a 3840 × 1920 mm, 2:1 canvas. Agree how a 16:9 source will fit that shape and whether the units play one continuous image or separate coordinated content.

Confirm the named controller and software

If your integration requires NovaStar, Colorlight, VNNOX or ViPlex, name the requirement before ordering. Ask for the exact controller model, compatible software version, applicable licence or account needs, and the relevant operating instructions.

A brand name alone does not establish support for your inputs, total pixel load or publishing method. Keep the selected hardware, software and signal diagram in the approved order specification.

Include a content test in acceptance

Prepare representative media and test the intended update route, native pixel mapping, restart behaviour and multi-unit playback. For a camera-facing installation, also review the actual camera, content, brightness and controller settings.

Agree the evidence and acceptance criteria required for your project before production. The listed refresh rate alone is not a guarantee that every camera setup will be free of banding or moiré.
